Free Meditation Music
Can Help You Relax and De-Stress
By Robert Smith
One place you can find free meditation music is, of course,
on the internet. Download the tracks to your computer and then
to your iPod or other mp3 player, or save them in your files
for later use. The websites that provide the music have the right
to distribute them and many of them do so freely.
Sound contributes to any meditative experience. It allows
you to block out the world, the sounds of traffic and other distractions.
Other aspects that are involved include various breathing techniques.
If you need to clear your mind in a hurry, a quick relaxing
breathing technique may be used. This will all work out best
if the tones of the free meditation music were designed to work
along with the meditative technique that is in use.
With the eyes closed and the body positioned for enhanced
circulation of life force, it is possible to heal and renew your
body relatively quickly. To see the most benefit, each of the
senses, as well as the muscles of the body, should be allowed
to relax. Touching the tips of your index fingers to your thumbs
prevents distraction from items that your fingers might encounter.
The cadence, flow, and tonality of most meditation music creates
an overall feeling of wellness. There are many different types
of this music, ranging from instrumentals, or just nature sounds,
such as crashing waves.
When listening to the music, closing your eyes prevents visual
distraction allowing the muscles of the eyes to relax. Tilting
your head back improves circulation to the brain and relaxes
your neck. Lighting a candle, burning incense or warming essential
oils will further increase relaxation, as the calming aroma will
block out other scents that could be distracting.
Free meditation music allows the ears to relax and also the
brain. You can use the music as a focal point to clear the mind.
Many people find it difficult to meditate and clear the mind
by focusing on a word, phrase or chant. Musical chords offer
an alternative focal point.
What's the best musical track to choose? Many good tracks
are available. Choose one that meets your specific needs and
your level. Beginners should stick with simply learning to clear
the mind. As you become more advanced, you can meditate for insight,
mindfulness, relaxation or even self healing.
If your body is sick or hurt, choose a healing meditation
that follows the transcendental breathing technique. As you begin
listening to the free meditation music, you will breathe deeply,
relaxing your body and mind.
As the technique progresses, you may focus on healing a specific
part of your body. Using your imagination and the power of your
mind, it is possible to heal yourself in just a small amount
of time.

Steve's Recommendation:
Skip the free stuff and go check out The Meditation Program. A cheap "Sounds
of Nature" meditation CD will relax you - at least if you
like the music and other sounds. But it just can't put you into
a meditative state like a good brainwave entrainment audio. This
program is one of the best - and is still affordable. |
