Seeing the Truth

If you wish to transform the self, seeing the truth more clearly is crucial. Watch and you'll see that there is an immediate and automatic reaching for the good and dropping of the evil when you see things for what they are. You drop a hot rock without arguing about it, step around a fire rather than into it, and you do not walk off of cliffs very often - even when they are near. Physical dangers are easier to see, so the response is clear and immediate, without internal conflict in your mind.

On the other hand, most of us are not so quick to avoid the dangers and destructive elements that lurk in our minds and souls. Why? Because we do not see the truth so clearly here. Just as you might walk off those cliffs in the fog, or let that rock burn your flesh if you didn't know it was hot, you suffer the damage of these interior threats because they are not seen and felt clearly.

If you did see the truth about a damaging behavior, for example, or a punishing thought, you would drop it easily and quickly. Our job, then, is to come to see the truth about ourselves more clearly.

In more than one story, for example, a man is blinded by his greed as a boat sinks, and he fills his pockets with gold or other heavy valuables. You can guess what happens as the boat goes down and he has to jump into the water. To the reader, who is an outside observer, it is clear what a self destructive thought process and action this constitutes.

Remember this basic and common story. It presents a great metaphor for how we listen to the voices inside us )greed speaks in this case, but there are others), and we weigh ourselves down dangerously as a result. How do you see the truth and avoid the fate of the man in the story? be the observer of your own story, and be an outsider that can see the the destructive intent of those voices that advise you from within. Seeing the truth starts with seeing how we are blinded to it by a false self, which is a thought process that we mistake for our own self.

The Meditation Program

This is one of the most cutting-edge brainwave tools currently available. The eight levels included take you from the beginner level (mid-Alpha) right through to super-advanced (mid-Delta).

If you get the MP3 downloads (CDs are available too) you might want to skip the "Registration Backup Service," which covers you if you lose the files, and just put an extra copy somewhere in your computer. But either way, this is one of the best products I have used. - Steve
